How much does a painter cost in Geneva?

Indicative rates, example budgets and a free online estimate — a clear answer, no nasty surprises.

It's the first question most of our clients ask, and rightly so. The cost of a painter in Geneva depends on several factors: the surface area to be treated, thecondition of the surfaces, the number of coats, the woodwork (doors, windows) and the finishes you want. Rather than give you a figure off the top of our head, here are our real indicative rates and some concrete examples.

Good news: you don't need to wait for an appointment to get an idea of the budget. Our online estimator calculates an immediate range from your surface areas, based on exactly the rates below.

Frequently asked questions about prices

How much does it cost to paint an apartment in Geneva?

For a full repaint, expect on average between 4,500 and 8,000 CHF for a 3.5-room apartment, depending on the condition of the walls, the number of coats and the woodwork to be treated. Our online estimator gives you a personalised range in a few clicks.

Is the price per m² or per hour?

Both coexist. Painting and preparation are generally billed per m² (walls, ceilings), while certain one-off touch-ups are counted by labour hour (85.–/h for a painter, 87.50.–/h for a plasterer). A 140.– travel flat fee covers site set-up, waste removal and cleaning.

Is VAT included?

Our indicative rates are quoted excluding tax. Swiss VAT of 8.1% is added to the net total to give the price including VAT.

How do I get an exact price?

Use our online estimator for an immediate estimate, then request a free quote: we confirm the price after a short visit, with no obligation.

Why do prices vary so much from one quote to another?

The condition of the surfaces changes everything: sound walls are painted quickly, whereas cracked, damp or wallpapered walls require longer preparation. The quality of products and finishes also plays a part.
